| Shunyata Research's
Constellation Series - Aries-S interconnect is a shielded version
of the original Aries interconnect. The Aries-S is an ideal choice
in locales and systems where microwave pollution and RFI is a
problem. In the majority of systems where noise is not an issue,
the standard Aries interconnects are all that is needed. Due
to its uniquely implemented copper-braid shield, the Aries-S
will deliver sound that just as open, dynamically engaged and
resolved as the original Aries, but adds an enhanced degree of
background silence and organic flow to music and sound.
True Litz with a twist
Shunyata
Research manufactures the Aries-S conductors in a true litz configuration.
Unlike some designs called "litz" - a true litz is composed of
individually insulated, micro-fine wires woven to ensure that
each is identical in length. The litz conductors used in the
Aries-S are configured in an exclusive spiral helix geometry
that utilizes unique isolation strands to minimize cross-talk
and self-induced EMF distortions.
Through extensive testing, designer Caelin abriel found that
common insulation materials, dyes and coloring agents subtly
degrade the performance of signal cables, and quickly found a
way to eliminate them from the Aries design. The Aries conductors
have an insulation barrier so thin as to be virtually invisible
to the naked eye. The conductors and isolation strands are then
jacketed in a protective medical-grade, optically transparent
outer sleeve.
The RCA locking-style connectors used in the Aries-S were selected
for their superior contact integrity and performance when compared
to dozens of tested connectors. The balanced and XLR connectors
are the highly regarded Neutrik connectors; again chosen for
their superior contact and performance.

Applications
Ideal for long exposed runs of interconnects in moderate to high-noise
environments such as metropolitan areas, recording studios
and in systems where noise is a historical problem. The Aries-S
will sound slightly quieter and more organic than the Aries,
but is also commensurately more expensive per meter.
Results
The Aries and Aries-S have been exhaustively tested within the
professional, review and audio/visual manufacturing community,
and have enjoyed universal success. Reference applications
within the world's foremost studios, such as Philips Crest
National 's million-dollar playback system in Hollywood, and
David Gilmour's Astoria studios in the UK have been overwhelmingly
positive. Top record producer Rick Rubin utilizes the Aries
and Aries-S within his testing systems, as does Peter Gabriel's
Real World Studios in the UK. The Aries and Aries-S have also
been adopted as references by top electronics and speaker manufacturers,
such as Wilson Audio, Halcro, Balanced Audio Technology, Jeff
Rowland Design, Audio Research, Verity Audio and many others.
Few products of its kind have so quickly earned endorsements
and accolades from those at the forefront of professional
and consumer audio/video industries. Reviews from the editors
of Ultra Audio (Greg Petan) SoundStage (Marc Mickelson) and OnHiFi
(Wes Philips) have been extremely favorable and descriptive
of the Aries and Aries-S resounding strengths compared to
anything at up to four-times the Aries and Aries-S price. |
