The DSS 30, acronym of "Digital Static Source" as the name shows, it is a digital stand-alone source without any mechanic transport can play directly any audio file without ripping or converting it to a different format.

The absolutely absence of any moving device inside enables the DSS to brake the wall present so far on any CD player, dismissing the problem to the basis. Virtually the DSS units over jump all the physical matters related to the Jitter, the Vibrations, the Wear as much as all the distortions unappeasably afflicted every CD Player.

Designed around a 100% open source Linux platform, Blacknote made a very versatile 24bit high definition Digital Static Source, with a 4Giga-Bite internal memory expandable with any standard SD flash memory card eventually* (*depending on the market availability). As optional the DSS may get hi-def Wireless digital data and can also be connected Wi-Fi becoming the source of a super hi-tech multi-room last generation system.

The DSS 30 features two USB ports on the front panel and two on the back panel to be connected to a PC but even directly to any USB stick memory.

The DSS 30 is a real stand alone unit can play directly any kind of audio format high or low def from stick memory cards and even external Hard Disk as much as any device having a 2.0 USB port. All the DSS are 100% compatible with Personal Computers from which they can play directly any audio file too.

All the functions and operativity of the CD player are managed thru a customised Texas-Instruments microchip programmed with a special software able to control any future up-grade of the unit.

The two lines alpha numeric display shows all the main functions of the unit as optional the player can be controlled directly thru the PC. The DSS is very easy to play with as stand alone unit; it can be simply controlled thru the six front panel buttons or the optional alpha-numeric remote control.

The power supply is made with two dedicated customised transformers. Any transformer supplies the power directly to the Digital Stage and the Analog stage. The whole power supply is stabilized and rectified with sophisticated and over dimensioned Current Generator designed exclusively for the DSS products.

The Power supply dedicated to the mother board and the DAC board is decoupled thru two "fused silicon" transformers specially shaped by Analog Device.

The Digital to Analog stage is managed thru customized DAC made by AKM and Burr-Brown. The proprietary circuit design of the DAC enable the DSS 30 a real 24bit resolution. The DSS 30 features a superior quality tube analog output stage based on two 6922 valves. Such new output stage is a truly balanced tube design no-matching any transistor or j-fet in order to get the highest sonic performance.

The DSS 30 features a sophisticated, high quality Digital-to-Analog converter also. The Digital 75ohm RCA input allows the unit to be connected to any CD player transport that would be able to use the extraordinary performance and characteristics of the DSS unit eventually.
