The Bellagio is our
reference on springs floating turntable,it is the latest step in performances.
The sound of Bellagio has got the most powerful, detailed, focused,
opened sound of all our turntables. Such great performances are obtained,
in particular, for its high and perfectly balanced mass, its innovative
decoupling systems & curved board shapes and the very fine quality
of its bearing/spindle system, all enable this turntable to incredibly
well dissipate and control vibrations and rotation stability.
The board where the arm and bearing/spindle are fixed is made of
a double20mm thick black acrylic, decoupled with brass heavy cylinders.
the black board shapes are completely curved to totally avoid external
vibration's nasty effects. These coupled black boards are connected
to a transparent 15mm thick board through 8mm diameter steel bars
directly to the turntable feet.
The motor is inserted into a special damped aluminum tube which
is connected(decoupled) to the 15mm board to curtail vibrations
from reaching the platter.
The well designed and expensive semi conic springs are made of
harmonic iron (very hard) to avoid any stretch. They can be finely
adjusted so as to fine tune the leveling of the platter. (very important,
the springs used here are not the cheaper soft kind found in most
of the sprung tables. They are made, as is been said above, of hardened,
stiffer stainless steel).
The 40mm thick platter is made of two 20mm thick black rectified
polyvinyl discs with additional 16 gold plated weights to increase
the peripheral weight (and so rotational stability). They also serve
to dissipate vibrations.
All the parts are made actually of machine worked aluminum, brass,
bronze, stainless steel, all to improve sonic performances.
The pulley, with one of the best available rotational stability,
is fixed without screws (for better wow &flutter). In addition,
it is made of Delryn which, compared to Teflon®, resists transmission
of vibrations, and has a significantly lower slippage coefficient.
The very innovative bearing/spindle system, much larger and longer
than usual ones, has a threaded external diameter bearing for in
axis fixing and a Teflon® screw on its bottom to actually enable
one to, thusly, adjust the VTA (the VTA is also adjustable at the
conventional tone arm level). In addition the Teflon® screw
can be substitute from another one holed in its center for insertion
of an optional air pump to render the spindle air suspended. |
